Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES:

  • You will be responsible for providing 1st Line Support.
  • You will support the IT team in network administration, covering all areas of analysis, specification, design, upgrade and mitigation along with supporting the smooth running of the business.
  • Respond to network connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational.
  • Maximise system performance and availability by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation.
  • Support, maintain, and enhance the Ventrica service stacks hosted both on-premise and in Microsoft Azure.
  • Support in maintaining security best practices aligned to ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and Cyber Essentials.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Maintenance of Ventrica infrastructure (network, storage, servers) to provide continual service for internal and external servers, applications and development.
  • Responsible for site security and resilience, backup and archiving, anti-virus and Disaster Recovery.
  • Participation in hardware and software product selection.
  • Writing system documentation and specifications.
  • Providing level 3 technical support and in-depth problem-solving capabilities.
  • To provide the best possible environment for both internal and external network infrastructure.
  • To ensure that all regulatory guidelines are adhered to, for example PCI.
  • Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
  • Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
  • Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls.
  • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment.
  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
  • Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
  • Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network and systems stay operational.
  • Building and administering Windows Servers in Hyper-V and Azure environments
