Support global infrastructure while lifting your career to new heights! At Marmon Crane Services (MCS), we are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer – Network Focus to strengthen our hybrid IT environment.
This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of both enterprise networking and core infrastructure systems, ensuring secure connectivity, high availability, and reliable performance across our operations in Canada, the US, and Australia.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of IT Infrastructure & Security – Global, the successful candidate will take ownership of networking services while also contributing to infrastructure projects and modernization initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with infrastructure peers, security teams, and vendors to manage multi-site networks, integrate cloud and on-premises environments, and ensure operational continuity.
Within our global IT team, the Infrastructure Engineer – Network Focus plays a vital role in safeguarding uptime, reducing organizational risk, and enabling MCS’s hybrid cloud strategy.
Location: Edmonton, AB - Hybrid Role (Flexible onsite schedule).
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week).
This role’s core working hours are aligned with North American operations. However, flexibility is expected to accommodate periodic oversight and coordination with Australian operations.
Experience Required: Senior Infrastructure professional (5-8 years demonstrated work experience).

DOCUMENTATION & KNOWLEDGE SHARING

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network and infrastructure configurations, including diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on troubleshooting and system management.
  • Build and maintain a centralized knowledge base of troubleshooting steps, “how-to” guides, and FAQs for the IT team.
  • Ensure networking and infrastructure practices are aligned with enterprise governance standards and repeatable processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration across the IT team by contributing to workshops and peer training sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-8 years of experience in enterprise networking and infrastructure administration.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Networking, MCSA/MCSE, or ITIL v4 are considered an asset.
  • Strong expertise with Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Ubiquiti/UniFi, and Azure networking solutions.
  • Proficiency in routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms, modern backup solutions, and enterprise storage administration.
  • Experience with VOIP and telecom setup, configuration, and support are considered an asset.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across IT, business, and vendors.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise networking technologies: Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Ubiquiti/UniFi (firewalls, switches, APs).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, QoS).
  • Experience with cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure and AWS (networking, VMs, storage, security).
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy administration.
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions (SAN, iSCSI, RAID).
  • Experience supporting VOIP and telecom systems, including enterprise voice and mobility solutions.
  • Exposure to security tools and practices, including email and endpoint security.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis skills across network and infrastructure layers.
  • Ability to document technical designs, diagrams, and SOPs for operational handoff.
