About the Role 💡 We’re looking for a versatile Infrastructure Engineer (SRE/Python) to join our Technology team in Sydney. You’ll play a critical role in supporting our high-frequency trading infrastructure, as well as broader systems including analytics, back-office, and development environments. Following modern SRE and DevOps principles, you’ll focus on automation, reliability, and system-wide improvements. You’ll also work closely with developers and business teams to ensure infrastructure is scalable, secure, and resilient. Your Mission at Life Trading 🎯 Infrastructure & Reliability: Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation for provisioning and management Manage CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable application delivery Monitor system reliability using SLIs/SLOs and participate in incident response Conduct post-mortem analysis to drive continuous improvement Support trading, back-office, analytics, and development/test environments Collaboration & Improvement: Work with development teams to optimise deployment processes Implement infrastructure-as-code best practices using Terraform Contribute to capacity planning and scaling decisions Maintain strong change management discipline while proactively improving systems What We’re Looking For 👀 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles Strong Linux administration skills Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar) Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) Knowledge of CI/CD principles and container orchestration (Nomad, Kubernetes) Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and version control (Git workflows) Networking fundamentals and configuration management experience (Ansible, Salt Stack) Understanding of deployment strategies, release management, and system reliability principles Bonus Points For ✅ Experience with SRE practices (SLOs, error budgets, blameless post-mortems) Knowledge of distributed systems and time-series databases Understanding of security best practices Exposure to low-latency trading systems Multi-cloud platform experience Experience with log aggregation and analysis A Bit About the Team 🤝 You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced Technology team where your contributions directly affect both trading success and operational reliability.
