Description
About the role We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to lead IT infrastructure services across the North EMEA region. This role blends technical expertise with leadership, ensuring operational excellence while meeting compliance, security, and standardization objectives. You will be responsible for delivering reliable and efficient infrastructure services, including server, network, and LAN environments, while managing a local team and acting as a trusted advisor within the business. The position involves maintaining service availability and capacity, collaborating with IT business partners to meet expectations, and managing risks and costs effectively. As a subject matter expert, you will apply ITIL principles to support incident and problem management, oversee the controlled transition of new services into operations, and ensure processes align with governance frameworks. You will also coordinate infrastructure projects from design through delivery and transition, balancing business-as-usual activities with change initiatives. Leadership is key to this role. You will guide and develop your team, foster talent, and influence decisions both locally and centrally. Using data and dashboards, you will monitor service quality and drive continuous improvement across the region. As a member of the regional IT leadership team you will deliver services supporting our business (offices and production sites) across several countries, whilst working as part of a broader community of infrastructure managers across the rest of EMEA. As a team we are increasing the stability, reliability and security of our platforms by leveraging increasing standardisation of technologies and operating models. Joining the team now provides an excellent opportunity to be part of and learn from a transformation. About You We are seeking a candidate with at least five years of experience in a similar role, including leadership responsibilities. A strong technical background in server, network, and LAN environments is essential, along with familiarity with ITIL and service management principles. Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are required, as well as proven ability to manage and develop teams. You should demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, a strong orientation toward business results, and the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly. Creativity, decisiveness, influence, and learning agility are important, as is organizational awareness and the ability to prioritize effectively. Strong relationship management and teamwork capabilities are also essential. Fair recruitment in DS Smith Don’t meet every single requirement?
