The Opportunity
Keyano College is currently seeking an Infrastructure Security & Systems Administrator. Reporting to the Infrastructure Supervisor, this position is responsible for securing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining the organization’s server, cloud, and virtualization infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity. This role proactively monitors security events, investigates threats, and enforces security policies to protect systems from emerging risks.
Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Infrastructure Security & Systems Administrator manages identity and access controls, security baselines, and compliance frameworks to safeguard Keyano’s IT environment. Additionally, this position oversees backups, disaster recovery, and system integrity to ensure resilience against disruptions. The Infrastructure Security & Systems Administrator maintains a comprehensive understanding of the IT environment, including on-prem, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure, and stays up to date on the evolving IT landscape and cybersecurity threats. This role also participates in an on-call rotation as needed to support organizational events and operations, ensuring a secure, reliable, and efficient IT environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • CompTIA Cyber Security Analyst (CySA+) or related certification such as:

O CompTIA Security+
O CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)

O Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)

  • Other certifications that would be recommended:

O Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
O VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization
O Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

O CompTIA Server+

  • Working with cross-functional IT teams, ERP administrators, customer support, and vendors to resolve issues, optimize workflows, and implement IT solutions.
  • Following structured change management processes, writing SOPs, policies, and knowledge base articles, and ensuring ITSM best practices in ticketing systems like TeamDynamix (TDX).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation is $73,890.09 per annum (CUPE TS7-1) with the following health and benefit package.
  • Employer paid comprehensive health and dental benefits, including a health spending account.
  • This position qualifies for additional payment of the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month (This allowance is reviewed annually and is subject to budget approval, however the nature around us isn’t going anywhere).
  • Generous vacation entitlement and the bonus of paid holidays between Christmas and New Years.
  • Life insurance is 2.5 times your annual salary.
