Company Description Anglo American Australia In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in manganese, as well as copper exploration projects under way in North West Queensland. Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. Job Description Anglo American’s Capcoal Operations are seeking an experienced and motivated Infrastructure Supervisor to join the Lake Lindsay team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the safe planning, coordination and execution of infrastructure maintenance and improvement activities across the operation. Reporting to the Superintendent, the successful applicant will lead a multi-skilled team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard while maintaining compliance with site procedures, legislative requirements and Anglo American values. The successful applicant will also demonstrate knowledge of mining plant and equipment, with experience supervising mining equipment. Your key responsibilities will include: Lead and supervise infrastructure personnel and contractors in the safe execution of daily work activities. Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities with associated pump. Liaise with Engineering departments for design coordination. Plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance and construction works across site infrastructure. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through visible leadership and compliance with the site’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS). Ensure all work is completed in accordance with SOPs, SWIs, permits and legislative requirements. Coordinate labour, equipment and materials to achieve planned work outcomes. Monitor work quality, productivity and budget performance. Liaise effectively with operational departments, maintenance teams and contractors to minimise disruption to production. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where required. Mentor, coach and develop team members to build capability and improve performance. Qualifications Demonstrated experience supervising work crews within an open-cut coal mining environment. A background in Civil and infrastructure projects would be desirable. Relevant competencies including – Backhoes (RIIMPO301E), Excavator (RIIMPO320F) and Grader (RIIMPO324F) tickets would be advantageous. Strong understanding of Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation. Strong communication skills – with the ability to work well in a team environment. Supervisor qualifications applicable to Queensland coal mining will be highly regarded. Current C Class drivers’ licence Additional Information Full-time permanent position based at Capcoal Mine, Middlemount. 7 days on, 7 days off day shift only rostered role.
