Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide hands-on support for the council’s IT infrastructure, assisting in the delivery and maintenance of technical solutions aligned with our IT Strategy and business needs.

️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design, installation, and management of infrastructure components including hardware, storage, backup, networking, operating systems, applications, telephony, and connectivity.
  • Contribute to corporate IT and digital projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain high security standards across all systems by applying updates, addressing vulnerabilities, and aligning with industry best practices.
  • Provide third-line support for complex issues affecting multiple users or critical services.
  • Monitor and manage backup environments, ensuring data integrity and compliance with service transition protocols.
  • Administer and support the council’s telephony systems (Mitel, Microsoft Teams) and email environment.
  • Assist in procurement, configuration, and deployment of new solutions and upgrades.
  • Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure smooth project delivery and service continuity.
  • Identify opportunities for process and technology improvements across the infrastructure landscape.
