YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll play a crucial hands-on role in a highly complex technical refresh project that includes hardware, operating system, and infrastructure software upgrades. This project also aims to virtualise system components to optimise physical space and improve operational efficiency. As an Infrastructure Tester, you’ll contribute from the outset to ensure the new infrastructure meets all functional and non-functional requirements.
You’ll be responsible for designing robust test plans and scripts across multiple testing phases including System Integration Testing (SIT), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Working closely with the engineering team, you will validate that both infrastructure and application-level components continue to function correctly following upgrades, with a particular focus on regression testing impacted areas.
In addition to technical validation, your tests will ensure that the infrastructure is not only functional but also manageable, providing assurance that the service management team can fully support and operate the system post-implementation. Your ability to adapt existing testing skills or apply core test principles to infrastructure environments will be key to success in this role.
Key responsibilities include:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
You’ll bring a solid foundation in core software testing, ideally with hands-on experience in infrastructure testing or a proven ability to apply your skills to infrastructure validation. Your testing approach will be meticulous and driven by quality, with the confidence to work autonomously and collaboratively within a wider engineering team.
You must be able to interpret infrastructure requirements and translate them into effective test cases that demonstrate both the functional performance of the environment and its ongoing manageability. This includes working closely with other technical stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage and issue resolution throughout the test lifecycle.
