Description We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Infusion Scheduler to join our outpatient oncology practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating infusion treatments for oncology patients, ensuring timely and efficient patient care while maintaining excellent communication between patients, healthcare providers, and the clinical team. Key Responsibilities: · Scheduling Infusions: Schedule and confirm treatment appointments for oncology patients, ensuring accurate allocation of treatment slots based on patient needs and available resources. Coordinate appointments for treatment. · Patient Coordination: Communicate with patients to confirm appointment times, provide relevant information regarding their treatment, and answer any logistical questions. Ensure patients are aware of pre-treatment instructions and necessary documentation. · Collaboration with Medical Team: Work closely with oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other clinical staff to ensure that all scheduled treatments align with the patient’s medical plan. Manage any changes to treatment schedules, such as reschedules or cancellations, in a timely manner. · Insurance Verification: Assist in verifying insurance coverage for infusion treatments, working closely with the billing and authorization department to ensure that all services are pre-authorized and covered as required by the patient's insurance plan. · Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records, patient information, and treatment details in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Ensure that any changes to infusion schedules or patient status are properly documented. · Patient Advocacy: Serve as a point of contact for patients who may need assistance with scheduling, treatment questions, or any concerns regarding their infusion appointments. Provide compassionate support to ensure a positive patient experience. · Coordination of Resources: Ensure all necessary equipment, medications, and supplies are available and prepared for scheduled infusion treatments. · Compliance: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines. Requirements Qualifications: · Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in healthcare administration or related field is preferred. · Experience: Previous experience in healthcare scheduling or in an oncology practice is preferred. Experience with infusion therapies and oncology treatments is highly desirable. · Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and scheduling software Ability to multitask and manage multiple patient appointments simultaneously Knowledge of medical terminology, specifically in oncology, is a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment · Certifications: Certification in medical office administration or scheduling is a plus but not required.
