JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, you will ensure safe work practices and conditions at worksite. Ensure all Erection-works (materials, method & workmanship) comply with contract and design requirements. Liaise with the customer and ensure that customer nominated inspection points are met. Assist with the coordination and compilation of the Manufactures Data Report. General Inspection on all tank erection works.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to the position, and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of engineering, construction methods, sequence, and processes for plate steel erection.
• Experience with Microstation or AutoCad or the ability to understand, interpret, and create 2D drawings.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to work with multi-national employees and across different languages.
• Work includes field inspections and the physical ability: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).

• Coordinating and leading inspections of completed tank erection works, prior to and after welding activities.
• Ensuring material deliveries for tank steel plate works comply with drawings and specifications.
• Coordinating all material deliveries, schedule, dimension control and resolve clash issues with suppliers and Tank design engineers.
• Providing technical input to Tank Erection Superintendents.
• Coordinating with Engineering on plate erection constructability and design issues.
• Quantity taking-off, controlling, reporting and forecasting for all tank plate quantities in the assigned areas.
• Directing the preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, equipment, tools, and consumables. Coordinating through Procurement to obtain these materials.
• Monitoring direct hire and subcontract plate erection operations and activities to ensure materials, equipment and quality comply with design and specifications.
• Planning and recommending procedures to be implemented by tank erection superintendents and subcontractors to ensure construction operations are within requirements for safety, engineering, specifications, meeting quality and schedule requirements.
• Coordinating activities with other discipline engineers and client resident representatives, as necessary to meet project objectives.
