JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of tender documents for mechanical equipment packages and transport of materials in Heap Leaching Project. It is expected to have management skills and actively participate in periodic interdisciplinary meetings, with the customer and/or suppliers of the plant equipment, in the areas of pile, solvent extraction (SX), material handling (conveyors, stackers, etc.) or others, where together with other disciplines, the best technical solutions will be validated and reviewed. This role, must participate in the design, development, modification and evaluation of mechanical components and processes with continuous interrelation with other disciplines. Their recommendations should be aimed at solving technical problems and ensuring that the requirements of the mechanical aspects of a project are met.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Mechanical Civil Engineering required, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in mining.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of gas extraction and handling equipment applied in projects and equipment required in mining industry processes, in particular in leaching plants (mandatory).
  • Field experience in the mining industry (desirable).
  • Knowledge of the development and analysis of calculations of water, acid and pulp networks.
  • Knowledge of developing calculations for air networks, air conditioning, tanks and fire protection systems (desirable).
  • Effectively apply technical knowledge and skills to solve a variety of problems, complete tasks/assignments and provide guidance and advice.
  • Sufficient experience and skills to act with the professional autonomy appropriate to their degree.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks.
  • Intermediate level of oral and written English (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities
  • SX and other related equipment. Experience in sizing and selection of equipment that are part of the copper extraction process by heap leaching is an essential and exclusive requirement.
  • Performing calculations and analyses that lead to technical design recommendations for sizing of mechanical equipment.
  • Preparing material requests, specifications, data sheets and other technical documents related to the procurement of equipment and/or mechanical systems.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of suppliers and technical evaluations of tenders.
  • Coordinating with mechanical designers to produce designs and drawings according to project standards.
  • Coordinating with P&ID mechanical designers to produce drawings according to the project standards.
  • Coordinating the work and collaborate with other disciplines and engineering areas of the company. This involves coordinating mechanical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialized groups, engineering disciplines, the customer, suppliers, contractors, construction and other functional groups.
  • Developing conceptual studies, designs, reports and/or proposals.
  • Providing technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interact with project and customer functions, to solve complex regulatory problems with knowledge of industry codes and standards.
