QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES :

  • Diplôme en génie électrique, mécanique ou civil/structurel d’un établissement reconnu.
  • Inscription à l’Ordre des ingénieurs (P.Eng.) ou équivalent requis.
  • Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience en conception de lignes de transmission et de distribution.
  • Connaissance essentielle des logiciels PLS CADD, PLS TOWER et PLS POLE.
  • Faire preuve d’initiative, d’esprit d’équipe et d’autonomie.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication en anglais (écrit et oral), le français comme deuxième langue est un atout.
  • Capacité à communiquer efficacement avec un large éventail de professionnels à tous les niveaux de l’organisation.
  • Excellentes compétences en organisation et en gestion du temps.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design for transmission lines projects.
  • Carryout/review/analyze project scope and technical studies.
  • Review the design basis memorandum, Transmission lines Requirements, detailed engineering scope and guide the assigned discipline engineers to align the engineering deliverables according to client requirements and AtkinsRéalis’s Quality Management Systems.
  • Preparation of Scope of Work (SOW) for survey, staking and construction.
  • Preparation of Line Route Selection report.
  • Preparation of Conductor Selection report.
  • Perform Transmission Line Optimum spotting.
  • Selection of equipment and material; preparation of specifications for material, equipment, construction and installation work.
  • Conduct studies, reports and specifications.
  • Maintain technical knowledge to ensure appropriate technologies are incorporated into designs.
  • Coordinate the work with internal engineering team and the client.
  • Review the calculations made by other engineers.
  • Supervise the work of technicians and designers assigned to the projects.
  • Marking up and reviewing drawings (prepared by drafting group) required for clients, suppliers and construction.
  • Calculation of structure loadings and preparation of associated DRDs (Design Requirement Drawings) and specifications.
  • Review of internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability.
  • Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members and work with Project Lead with detailed planning and monitoring to ensure output of the design are within requirements of the project.
  • Construction support including resolving site queries, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects.
  • Maintain technical knowledge to ensure appropriate technologies are incorporated into designs.
  • Maintain complete project documentation with respect to engineering studies and calculations, all design packages, as-built requirements and return data information.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to developing engineers within the department.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with internal groups that support projects such as other engineering disciplines, Drafting, Procurement, Construction and Project Management, etc.
