JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

L’ingénieur(e) turbine aux offres techniques est le point de référence pour tous les aspects mécaniques liés au produit turbine dans le cadre des offres. Il ou elle fera partie intégrante d’une équipe d’ingénieurs multidisciplinaires dédiée à la préparation d’offres techniques. Ce rôle implique l’élaboration de stratégies gagnantes et la conception préliminaire de turbines, tant pour des réfections majeures que pour des centrales neuves, en collaboration étroite avec les équipes d’approvisionnement, d’estimation, de chantier et commerciales.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES

• Baccalauréat ou diplôme de 2e cycle (maîtrise) en génie mécanique dans un domaine connexe.
• Doit avoir au moins 5 années d’expérience pertinente en hydroélectricité, de préférence en conception de turbine.
• Membre de l’Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Les candidats à la profession d’ingénieur dûment inscrits à l’OIQ seront aussi considérés.
• Volonté et disponibilité pour occasionnellement voyager en Amérique du Nord.
• Être bilingue (français et anglais) - aptitudes pour rédaction requises: GE Vernova fournit des services de haute qualité à des clients situés à travers le monde et l’employé doit être capable de fournir des services d’une manière efficace alignée sur les normes d’excellence de l’entreprise.
• Doit avoir l’autorisation de travailler au Canada sans restriction et sans besoin de parrainage
• Doit être prêt à se soumettre au contrôle préalable à l’embauche, y compris, mais sans s’y limiter, la vérification des références et la vérification des antécédents.

QUALIFICATIONS SOUHAITABLES

• Expérimenté(e) en conception, entretien et réfection de turbine de groupe turbine-alternateur hydroélectrique.
• Être passionné(e) de technique et de service à la clientèle.
• Être proactif(ve) et autonome, avoir de la facilité à interagir avec d’autres fonctions;
• Ouverture au changement et facilité d’adaptation aux différents besoins de l’organisation
• Capacité de coordination technique et habiletés de communication.
• Faire preuve de créativité et d’innovation dans la résolution de problèmes;
• Avoir une bonne gestion des priorités;
• Habilité à coordonner de multiples tâches/projets simultanément

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in hydro power, preferably in Turbine design.
• Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ), Candidate to the engineering profession (CPI), duly registered with the OIQ, will also be considered
• Experience in designing, maintaining or refurbishing hydro turbine is an asset;
• Willing and available to occasionally travel within North America;
• Bilingualism (French and English) – writing aptitude required. GE Vernova supplies high quality services to its client worldwide and the employee must be able to provide efficient services aligned with the company excellence standards
• Must have unrestricted Canadian work authorization, without requiring sponsorship.
• Must be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited, reference verification and background check.

• Experience in the design, maintenance, and refurbishment of turbine for turbine-generator hydroelectric unit;
• Being passionate about technology and client services
• Being proactive and autonomous, have ease in interacting with other functions than engineering;
• Capacity of technical coordination and communication skills;
• Show creativity and innovation in problem solving;
• Having good priority management skills;
• Being able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Identify customer’s technical requirements and communicate the relevant information of all functions of the team;

• Perform preliminary mechanical design of the turbine for the hydroelectric turbine-generator unit;
• Validate technical solutions;
• Define technical characteristics, performances and technical guarantees;
• Document the strategy, technical design and validation the chosen solution;
• Prepare technical documentation to include with the proposal;
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation plans;
• Travel to powerplants to gather the required data to prepare the technical proposal;
• Participate in proposal preparation tools;
• Meet client to support the Commercial Operation and Sales teams;
• Ensure seamless handover to the execution team
