SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Referring to the Director of engineering, within the Performance Analysis Group, the performance analysisengineer is responsible for the design of dynamic modelsrepresenting the behaviour of landing gears in order to assess dynamic loads.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience or any combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Master’s degree an asset)
- Excellent knowledge of technical calculations related to dynamics and vibration
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite
- Proven expertise in advanced calculations and analyses
- Demonstrated expertise in solving complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team in a customer-focused environment

Responsibilities:
- Perform kinematic and dynamic analyses of components and components
- Perform simulations to determine the maximum load of different parameters based on flight configurations and aircraft assessed
- Assess ground loads using empirical methods prescribed by Transport Canada, the FAA or any other regulatory agency
- Determine aircraft loads during landing and ground travel
- Assess rigidity, viscosity, mass distribution, friction, and all other parameters relevant to analyses
- Perform retraction and extension analyses
- Perform stability analyses ("shimmy”, “gear walk")
- Produce performance reports including analyses
- Define requirements and criteria related to performance and airworthiness specifications for landing gear development and qualification tests for validation and model calculations
