Description Matrix Plastic Products is seeking a hands-on, motivated, and experienced Injection Molding Processing Technician (3rd Shift) to join our injection molding team. The Processing Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of existing plastic injection molds utilizing scientific molding principles. Ensures molding production meets customer specifications, making adjustments as necessary to run within established process parameters. Works with our quality department to resolve any production issues. Regularly works on all injection molding machines (including Engel, Plus-tech, Shibaura, JSW, and Wittmann machines) as well as Yushin robots and auxiliary equipment. The role works closely with our automation and maintenance teams to effectively support production across all shifts, as well as training internal personnel. Applicable technical training is also available through Matrix during employment Requirements Major Duties and Responsibilities: Develop new injection molding processes, review and improve existing processes to ensure quality and efficiency Document established process limits and change support Work with Quality Engineer to develop and execute suitable process validation protocols Minimize production scrap rates and downtime through efficient and effective efforts Mentor other process technicians, operators, and molding personnel Plan and coordinate with our internal tooling department Assist with automation integration and maintenance Additional Responsibilities: Work with customers, material vendors, and equipment manufacturers as needed DOEs Support downstream processes Identifies and implements improvements to production to create cost reductions and improve performance Recommends cost-effective risk mitigations to support production uptime Must have basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Strong communication skills both verbally and written Completes special projects as needed Required Skill/Knowledge: Previous experience in plastic injection molding process development: 2-5+ years (Required) Knowledge of scientific molding principles Basic understanding of injection molding tool design Mechanical aptitude Reliability & strong work ethic Ability to train others Ability to follow company procedures and work instructions Preferred Skills/ Knowledge: Experience in programming automation equipment Good math skills Attention to detail Good oral and written communication skills Organizational skills Time management skills Interpersonal skills Analytical skills Education Level / Required Certification: High School Diploma or GED required Degree in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred) Compensation and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $24-$28/hr, depending on experience. 401(k) & 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Paid time off Vision insurance Additional Information: Job Type: Full-time.
