EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – INJECTION MOLDING TECHNICIAN – DAY SHIFT

Uni-Spray Systems Inc (Cambridge, ON) is an ISO 9001/140001 certified full service, high precision manufacturing company that provides its clients in over 60 countries worldwide with a single source for molded plastic parts and assemblies.
We currently have a Day shift opportunity, Monday to Friday 6:30am-2:30pm for a team oriented experienced Injection Molding Technician to join our team in our state of the art fully airconditioned manufacturing facility.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an Injection Molding Technician, you will be responsible for setting up molds, conveyors, workstations, robots, auxiliary equipment, establishing new processes, trouble shooting of machine and process issues, mold/machine maintenance and materials management.
The Ideal candidate will have an excellent attitude, willingness to learn and will work well in a team environment with a focus on safety, respect and success of our team members.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Able to lift/carry loads up to 22kgs (50lbs)
· Stand/Walk for long periods
· Use fingers/hands, handle or feel product
· Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, and color vision
· Able to work at varying temperatures (i.e. heat & humidity)

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Min 5 years’ experience in a similar Injection Molding environment
· Self-Motivated Team Player
· Forklift and Overhead crane experience (Required)
· Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
· Familiarity with Yushin and Whitman Robotics would be an asset
· Experience with machine maintenance and mold assembly would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential duties of this job:

  • Set up and adjust injection mold processes for production, first runs and sampling
  • Changeover tooling as required
  • Prepare, set up and/or program tools, robots, machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Verify correct set-up of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before start up
  • Ensure that machine guards, controls and safety mechanisms are in place and function prior to start up
  • Perform 1st piece inspection and adjust as required
  • Ensure molded components meet quality control guidelines and customer requirements and adjust as required
  • Perform routine checks and part sampling for quality conformance
  • Investigate causes of non-conformance and initiate corrective action
  • Troubleshoot and improve processes related to injection molding
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical malfunction
  • Establish molding set up processes, train other technicians and operators
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine or preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturers specifications, established schedule and update PM records
  • Identify tooling/mold malfunctions or corrections required and repair the same
  • Assist with equipment installation and pre-start reviews
  • Work with engineering and quality to improve efficiency and increase quality standards
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies based upon anticipated need
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude daily and under deadlines
