Job Description The Power Electronics Design and Development Engineer is responsible for supporting the full design, development, and validation lifecycle of power electronics components in alignment with the corporate Technology Readiness Level (TRL) process. This role ensures requirement alignment, supports cross-functional activities, and collaborates closely with internal and external partners to ensure specifications, best practices, and high-quality design standards are met. The engineer will participate in design reviews, prototype builds, validation activities, and assist in the preparation of presentations and component documentation. A strong understanding of hardware circuitry, component failure modes, and manufacturing processes is required. Key Responsibilities Execute development activities following the corporate TRL process. Ensure requirements are aligned, documented, and met across all stages of development. Support the project lead across all technical and project coordination tasks. Collaborate with Stellantis internal production teams, PMO, advanced purchasing, cost engineering, suppliers, and testing laboratories. Verify that requirements, specifications, and industry best practices are implemented throughout the design process. Participate in and document design reviews, prototype builds, and validation testing. Assist with presentation preparation, reporting, and sample/parts collection. Apply strong design fundamentals and understanding of hardware circuitry and failure modes. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in electrification, electronics, or circuit design/development. Minimum 3 years of experience in power inverter or power module design, development, and testing. Strong understanding of power electronics principles and devices. Experience creating and executing DVP&R and DFMEA. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of electrical engineering standards, protocols, and power electronics devices. Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to work independently. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering. 5+ years of relevant experience in power electronics or related fields. Experience with power electronics simulations, electrical models, and FEA. Expertise in power electronics specifications. Experience with electric motor and powertrain controls. Power electronics design and release experience. Hybrid or high-voltage systems experience strongly preferred. Supplier program management experience. Knowledge of power electronic component quality and manufacturing processes. Experience with power electronics fabrication and assembly processes.
