QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, sports technology, sports science or other related technical area. Masters/PhD preferred in applied field to human performance,

apparel/footwear/raw material performance or adjacent discipline.

  • 5+ years experience in an applied R&D capacity. Demonstrating effectiveness in applying research methods to drive product insights and feedback.
  • Strong project management skills (with experience in tools like smartsheet, Trello)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across research, equipment, prototyping.
  • Expertise in technical research and prototyping equipment (including Raw Materials,

biomechanics, thermo-physiology, sensory perception)

  • Expertise in leveraging sensor technologies to enable in-lab and in-the-wild testing

capabilities.

  • Proven ability to organise, handle and analyse data from different sources.
  • Experience/appetite to embrace AI/ML technologies to elevate the efficiency and/or efficacy of our processes.
  • Proven record planning budget and managing budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, track and report on facility/space.
Responsibilities
  • Set-up, calibration and proactive maintenance of human performance testing and RM

characterization equipment (including biomechanics, physiology, raw materials, etc)

  • Exploring and budgeting new testing technologies and recommending ways in which we build our facility to ensure it is a high-performance space that inspires the creativity and progress in innovation.
  • Piloting new kit and establishing SOPs to allow teams to hit the ground running, ensuring data integrity from the outset, e.g. Theia markerless MOCAP, VICON, IMU’s, 3d body scanner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software.
  • Design and development of new/hacked testing rigs to support RM characterization and on-body testing. e.g. hot plate testing for constructed bra cups, in lab test for nipple

concealment, airflow testing, etc.

  • Supporting the ability to test ‘away from home’ and help to navigate associated

complexities (e.g. border clearance &/or creation of external network of collaborators who we can borrow equipment from if necessary)

  • Implementation and management of data management systems ensuring collected data abides by consistently evolving best practices from legal and data architecture

perspectives.

  • Tracking and reporting on lab usage and performance.
