The Role
Do you have a passion for shaping the future? We are seeking an Innovation (NPD) Manager to join our expanding Innovation team to drive the growth of our global hair tools business. You will be working on the core part of the business. Reporting to the Senior Global Innovation Manager ‘Core’ you will create the next generation of products that deliver against different hair types and drive the future of healthy hair.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of new product development for your projects, from concept, through to successful product launch. Working cross-functionally is key with product designers, project management, operations, design, sales and ensuring best in class handovers to marketing. Your collaboration, strategic thinking, financial acumen and passion for consumers will be crucial in shaping the future. This is a global role and as such you will be working closely with our team based in the USA.
Manage the development of new products from ideation to launch, ensuring they are embedded in consumer insight and meet clear business and sales objectives.
You will create clear project briefs covering insight, design, pricing, packaging, value and volume metrics cost of goods and distribution strategies
You will lead your projects through the stage and gate process ensuring clear communication and cross functional inputs and alignment, flagging risks, solves and recommendations, presenting at the monthly Innovation SLT meeting.
You will manage key stakeholders ensuring consistent communication with all internal and external stakeholders throughout the process, leading meetings and providing regular updates to the Senior Global Innovation Manager on project timelines, progress, and any potential risks or challenges.
Work cross -functionally and collaboratively with commercial and brand to share insights and data whilst actively listening to ensure market relevance and allow seamless handovers to execution. A key partner will also be your project manager to keep your projects on track and foresee/manage risk
Budget and own P&L. You will create and own the P&L for your project at the stage gates ensuring projects are scalable and margin accretive. You will also oversee the project budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently and financial goals are met.
Develop a deep understanding of consumers and healthy hair leveraging insights to create new products, staying up to date with competitor launches, industry innovations and emerging trends to inspire new product ideas and solutions. You will conduct consumer and market research to inform your product development.
