Responsibilities Integrates the UnityPoint Health Des Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance in all aspects of care delivery and professional practice Contributes to the maintenance of high quality, cost effective services consistent with the needs of the users and the hospital’s budgetary guidelines Provides clinical leadership by directing, coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility Acts as an interdepartmental liaison promoting effective multidisciplinary teamwork Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes Remains competent and available to participate in patient care pertinent to clinical specialty Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting patient care Assists in the development of policy/procedure and guidelines for safe, efficient operation of the department as needed Assists in developing annual budget and takes appropriate action when appropriate to maintain control of department financial resources Implements evidence-based practice strategies to meet the patient care needs Interviews, orients, trains, schedules, evaluates, disciplines, and terminates staff with appropriate input Qualifications Education: Registered nurse with active RN license Willing and able to achieve BSN within 3 years Experience: One-year experience as a registered nurse Experience in specialty area preferred License(s)/Certification(s): Current Iowa license as a registered nurseCurrent BCLS (CPR)Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
