(ECI) has been to assist self-pay hospital patients find the means to pay their medical bills through participation in various government assistant programs. ECI’s solutions encompass every potential self-pay patient from the lowest dollar outpatient and ER account to the most complex long-term disability. Job Description: The Inpatient Collections Support (Hospital Based) employee is responsible for providing daily assistance to the onsite hospital collectors including documenting all patient payments in multiple databases. The Inpatient Collections Support employee reports to the Assistant Director. Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities : Primarily supports the inpatient collections operations including Carepricer activities Records all payments, and additional documentation in hospital and ECI databases Answers inbound calls. Makes calls to patients, agencies, or others Data entry, indexing, scanning, faxing, coding reports Able to multi-task and handle competing priorities while meeting or exceeding goals Complies with all state and federal laws regarding HIPAA and confidentiality requirements Able to remain focused and productive each day with minimum supervision Demonstrates respect for all individuals Adheres to ECI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values May be assigned other duties by management including cross-training for back-up collections Requirements Soft Skills Needed for the Ideal Candidate: A compassionate heart and a sincere desire to assist patients during any phase of their application process Strong work ethic demonstrated with excellent outcomes Strong written and verbal communication skills Desire to provide the best possible experience for our patients Experience navigating a computer while on the phone Willing to work and contribute to a team environment Ability to trouble-shoot problems Listens effectively Required Qualifications: High School diploma / GED (or higher) Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) Prior costumer service experience a plus Physical and Work Requirements: Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, long periods working at a computer.
