Description
1. Ambulates patients who are placed on the Mobility Aide ambulation list. 2. Assists the therapists with treatments as requested. 3. Confirms continued appropriateness for mobility by discussing with patient’s nurse prior to mobilizing the patient. 4. Ensures patient is safely returned to chair or bed following ambulation, with chair or bed alarm on for safety as indicated. 5. Takes and documents vital signs before and after ambulation as indicated. 6. Documents in medical record per protocol. 7. Fits patients for crutches, walkers, canes and other equipment as requested by a therapist and ensures paperwork is filled out, completed and placed in the appropriate place. 8. Prepares patients for treatment as requested. 9. Communicates effectively with rehab and nursing staff. 10. Inventories therapeutic supplies and equipment; assists in requesting, assembling, and stocking items. 11. Assists with Inpatient Rehab. clerical duties such as answering the phone, taking messages, ordering supplies, verifying orders. 12. Attends meetings as required. 13. Orients new personnel as requested by manager. 14. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects Cape Cod Hospital’s commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service. · Ability to read, write and communicate in English. · High school graduate or GED required. · Successful completion of Medical Terminology course or successful passage of Medical Terminology challenge exam · Six (6) months experience as a Rehabilitation Aide, Nursing Assistant II or other direct patient care position. · Current Basic Life Support Certification. · Successful passage of CPI training within 3 months of hire and must maintain recertification annually.
Responsibilities
