Overview GENERAL DESCRIPTION Plans and delivers professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and Cherokee Nation Health Services' mission, vision, and values. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of Associate’s degree in Nursing from a two-year college or technical school; no exceptions. No experience is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a license as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) or possess a multistate RN license accepted by the OBN, no substitutions. Must maintain license throughout employment. Basic Life Support (BLS); must be obtained during orientation and maintained throughout employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – within orientation period and maintain throughout employment. Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Fetal Monitoring Class – within 12 months of hire OR proof of completion within the last two years and maintain throughout employment. RECOMMENDED: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support (STABLE). OTHER REQUIREMENTS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). May be required to meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. A driver’s license may be required to work in some departments. If so, the applicant/employee must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
