Description

The Inside Sales Account Manager is the primary point of contact for walk-in customers, showroom visitors, and inbound sales inquiries. This role is responsible for managing the sales process from initial customer engagement through order fulfillment, ensuring an exceptional buying experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–3 years of inside sales, showroom sales, or customer service experience in building materials, tile, flooring, or related industry preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage with both trade professionals and retail customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/POS systems; experience with [specific system] a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of tile, stone, and installation materials strongly preferred.

Product Knowledge & Merchandising

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, industry trends, and installation methods.
  • Keep showroom samples, displays, and literature organized and current.
  • Participate in vendor trainings and product demonstrations

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

  • Greet and assist walk-in customers, designers, contractors, and homeowners in the showroom.
  • Provide product recommendations, design guidance, and technical information to meet project needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with repeat customers to encourage loyalty and repeat business.

Sales & Order Processing

  • Prepare accurate quotes, sales orders, and invoices using company ERP/POS systems.
  • Process special orders and coordinate with purchasing to ensure product availability.
  • Verify pricing, lead times, and stock status before order confirmation.
  • Process Sales Estimates/Quotes into Final Orders for Sales Team.
  • Place Purchase Orders with Vendors for Confirmed Special Orders
  • Coordinate with Sales to place all special orders needed in a timely manner in accordance with customer needs.
  • Work with vendors to confirm inbound shipment schedules.
  • Track supplier lead times and update sales team on any delays or changes.

Account Management

  • Follow up on open quotes, pending orders, and backorders to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding delivery schedules, substitutions, or delays.
  • Handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims according to company policy.

Product Knowledge & Merchandising

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, industry trends, and installation methods.
  • Keep showroom samples, displays, and literature organized and current.
  • Participate in vendor trainings and product demonstrations.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with outside sales reps to support their accounts and facilitate order flow.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
  • Assist with showroom events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
