Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical or industrial environment (inside sales, engineering, automation, or project support)
  • Familiarity with automation, controls systems, industrial networks, or OEM equipment a strong plus
  • Technical writing or CRM experience is a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to communicate with engineers and clients
  • Technical understanding of industrial systems or automation environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel)
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a fast-paced team
  • Experience supporting industrial or engineered product sales highly desirable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mostly sedentary office work with occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs)
  • Must be able to focus on detailed technical documentation and customer specifications

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re seeking an Sales Solutions– Automation Client Architect to join our sales and engineering team. This role serves as a key bridge between our internal salesforce and customers—providing technical insight, accurate proposals, and well-aligned solutions in a technical or industrial environment.
You’ll work closely with Regional and Corporate Account Executives, Business Development Managers, and Engineering to define scope, price projects, and present compelling solutions. This is a client-facing role requiring both sales acumen and technical knowledge of automation or industrial systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proposal Development & Technical Sales Support
  • Develop detailed proposals, pricing, and scopes of work for industrial automation projects
  • Coordinate regularly with the regional sales team to manage priorities and timelines
  • Lead the collection of technical and customer information needed for quoting
  • Support quoting process with engineering, subcontractors, and client engagement
  • Deliver proposals on time, ensuring accuracy, profitability, and scope clarity
  • Own the quoting process for both base proposals and change orders
  • Client Engagement & Opportunity Strategy
  • Support sales calls with Account Executives and Business Development Managers
  • Translate client needs into aligned TriCore solutions using technical understanding
  • Present and explain solutions in a clear, business-oriented way
  • Track opportunity status and assist with order processing as needed
  • Use CRM tools (Customer Center) to manage opportunities and communication
  • Process Improvement & Standardization
  • Help ensure consistency in proposals, pricing, and technical scope across all regions
  • Leverage feedback from completed projects to improve future proposals
  • Contribute to internal initiatives to streamline the proposal development process
  • Maintain awareness of TriCore technology and supplier offerings
