JOB SUMMARY:

The Inside Sales Specialist III role is the conduit through which our customers communicate their product needs to us, and we translate these needs to winning proposals for Inside Sales Representative complex systems, applications, and WIP jobs. Creating a winning proposal requires an ability to accurately ascertain the customer’s need, correctly size and select a solution, negotiate as appropriate a competitive price from our suppliers, and translate this into a compelling offer to the customer. The Inside Sales Specialist provides customer solutions for a single product line and/or applications and facilitates quotations of parts and buy-out items when required.

POSITIONAL REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred or equivalent technical school certification
  • Alternatively, at least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role identifying and addressing customer needs within relevant industry
  • Skills & Abilities
  • Successful completion of Channel Connect Valve University for assigned product vertical (Pressure Protection and Control Valve only)
  • Successful completion and understanding of quality standardization procedures and computer systems
  • Successful completion of computer-based technical training
  • Successful completion of applicable product type instructor-led technical training
  • Successful completion of customer experience training
  • Successful completion of shop orientation hours for assigned product vertical
  • Successful completion of the Inside Sales: Level I LinkedIn Learning path
  • Successful completion of the level I written test for the assigned product vertical
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of valves and related products
  • Basic understanding of the chemical, refining and power markets
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to perform job function with little supervision
  • Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s available services, product lines, sales territories, product applications, and applicable pricing structures.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of OEM and Global Alliance Agreements and appropriately apply to the Customer Solutions Process.
  • Review, process, and submit customer orders through VuPoint which will typically include:
  • Quoting parts and buy-out items
  • Quoting a single product line within the vertical
  • Verifying pricing
  • Locate material for sourcing
  • Partner with the respective Account Manager, Operations and Services Coordinators, when needed, to address Customer Service issues
  • Create and maintain customer trust in the Company as a quality, value-added, solutions provider
  • Assist Inside Sales Specialists and Manager within vertical and at times within other vertical teams with similar duties and responsibilities as assigned.
