Description POSITION OVERVIEW: The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for delivering the Talbert Difference to customers from the front counter. Interactions with customers will be face to face, over the phone, and through email. There will be interruptions throughout the day to service customers, work with vendors, and support the team through these different mediums. The position is responsible for selling an appropriate sales volume and product mix while optimizing gross margins to achieve personal and company goals. Requirements KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist customers with product inquiries and selections, quotes, orders, deliveries, returns and credits, general questions, and all other services necessary for an exceptional customer experience Greet walk-in customers if not otherwise occupied, and be prepared to put non-urgent matters on hold to service a waiting customer Answer sales and internal calls with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist In coordination with management, set and work to achieve monthly sales and gross profit goals Learn and use internal company systems and software with a focus on proficiency with our ERP system BisTrack Monitor open orders, specials waiting for stock, backorders, pending credits, supplier returns, quotes, scheduled deliveries, and all outstanding work to ensure timely resolutions and customer service Develop a mindset of continuous improvement especially as it pertains to building systems and product knowledge Review quotes, orders, POs, vendor confirmations, and all process documents that require accuracy Ensure that customers sign-off on specials (with detailed information) before placing the order with the supplier Verify that Shipping and Receiving has accurate and timely information required to ship orders and receive POs Learn to estimate jobs from plans and customer information – framing, siding, roofing, millwork, drywall, etc. Submit customer job accounts to Accounts Receivable for approval and setup Communicate with customers and team members to verify expectations are clear and aligned OTHER KEY FACTORS: Personify the TALBERT Core Values of Teamwork, Accountability, Learning, Balance, Empowerment, Respect & Trust Must be organized and detail-oriented with a strong will to meet deadlines and goals Must possess good interpersonal skills yet able to work alone General computer skills are necessary with a background in Microsoft programs Be able to use constructive feedback to improve job performance Adhere to all company policies and procedures
