The role The Information Risk Management team is seeking an Insider Threat Analyst to be based in our Aberdeen office, where they will lead internal investigations across the firm. Under the general direction of the Information Security Officer, the Insider Threat Analyst will be responsible for safeguarding the firm, perform advanced analytics in support of security operations, and will investigate threats related to, but not limited to, policy violations, and reputational risk stemming from deliberate or accidental data loss. All responsibilities will be executed in accordance with corporate standards, compliance policies, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Cyber Security field and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Key Responsibilities Analyze telemetry data and indicators across infrastructure: DLP alerts, endpoint logs, VPN activity, and internal collaboration platform indicators Lead insider risk investigations from intake to closure involving sensitive matters such as: Data exfiltration or misuse, Unauthorized platform access or Privilege abuse Assist in overseeing cybersecurity monitoring, analysis, and event management Identify insider threat use cases and collaborate with relevant teams to close gaps Help mature the Insider Threat program as the business environment evolves Maintain complete discretion and proper handling of sensitive employee, operational, and company data in accordance with regional privacy laws and regulatory requirements (GDPR principles, data minimization, purpose limitation, retention, and cross-border transfer compliance) Monitor and assess external threats and public disclosures originating from internal actions that may affect the firm’s brand Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the Insider Threat program Requirements 2+ years of proven experience in Cyber Security or a related security function Experience with security tools and technologies Knowledge of security standards and guidelines from NIST and/or SANS Experience working and collaborating with a remote Technology team Deep understanding of computing and cybersecurity principles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Experience in a financial environment Security certifications *Please note that you must have the necessary right to work in the UK, as we are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
