Description

We are looking for an experienced Inspection Engineer to direct the technical work for inspection projects. Reporting to the Engineering and Inspection Manager, the Inspection Engineer supervises, directs, verifies, and signs off all technical work of the inspection team. The Inspection Engineer provides professional and technical guidance to Inspectors at all levels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or structural Engineering, or other relevant degree
  • Registered or eligible for registration with APEGS as a Professional Engineer

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Able to perform work with a high level of autonomy
  • MT2 certification from NRCan
  • Visual Inspection 2 certification from CWB
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills
  • Saskatchewan class 5 driver’s license
  • Basic knowledge of project management concepts and terminology

Responsibilities
  • Confirm inspections and technical reports meet scope, applicable codes, standards, regulations, and company formats
  • Verify technical elements of inspections are complete and accurate
  • Formulate and sign off on repair recommendations
  • Review and sign off on formal inspection reports
  • Witness and document onsite testing that requires the presence of a professional engineer
  • Work with Service Coordinators to define and control scope, schedule, and budget for inspection projects
  • Manage technical questions, comments, and issues arising from inspection work
