Job Description Job Title: Inspections Engineer Job Type: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: Competitive + Car or Allowance + Bonus Field Based covering Oxford, Cambridge, Northampton up to the Midlands Job Description We are looking for an Inspection Engineer to join our growing team, supporting inspection and compliance activities across client sites. This role is ideal for someone with a mechanical or engineering background who is either already working in inspection or looking to develop further within a structured, technical environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will support the inspection of equipment and assets, ensuring they meet regulatory and safety standards, while building your knowledge and expertise within the field. Key Responsibilities Carry out inspection activities on client assets and equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant standards Support examinations and assist with identifying defects, wear, or non-conformance Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain documentation Work closely with experienced engineers and internal teams to deliver high-quality service Liaise with clients on site, ensuring clear communication and professionalism at all times Adhere to SGS quality, health & safety, and integrity standards Qualifications Background in mechanical engineering, maintenance, or inspection HNC / HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline Some experience within inspection, engineering, or regulated environments Strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically Good communication skills and a proactive approach Full Driving Licence for use in the UK and willingness to travel Additional Information At SGS, we believe in rewarding our employees for their hard work and commitment.
