Job Description Permanent, Full- Time $69,746.76 per annum plus Superannuation Join the Assets team Hume City Council is one of Australia’s fastest growing and culturally diverse councils. To provide a safe road and footpath network to the community by carrying out inspections in accordance with Council’s Road Management Plan. What you’ll be doing: Conduct road, line marking, footpath, sign, street furniture, road safety barrier and drainage asset inspections within Hume City Council, ensuring compliance with Council’s Road Management Plan. Conduct temporary repairs. Provide a high level of customer service. Report private and service authorities’ hazards, faults and un-reinstated Council infrastructure to asset owners or developers. Assist public with technical and general enquires or complaints. Provide assistance and technical advice to the Inspections Supervisor with regard to maintenance activities. Investigation, reporting and other duties as directed by the Inspections Supervisor, consistent with the general requirements of this position. The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role: A demonstrated understanding of municipal maintenance operations and practices. Basic awareness of relevant legislation including, "Road Management Act 2004" and Hume City Council’s Road Management Plan. Knowledge of works programming and asset inspection schedules Ability to identify customer/client needs and expectations, decide appropriate action and respond accordingly. Civil construction and maintenance work experience Demonstrated proficiency in computer and associated Microsoft software programs. Highly developed customer service skills. Why Hume City Council?
