Description

Main purpose of the job To, independently, conduct inspection and certification of products according to standard protocols and procedures as prescribed through PPECB's legislative mandate. High level job objectives • To ensure service delivery to internal and external clients in line with PPECB's legislative • mandate, SLA's, MOU's and MOA's. • To ensure PPECB's values are portrayed to enhance a culture of accountability. • To ensure compliance to internal and external business management processes. • To ensure compliance to Human Resources policies and procedures. • To ensure compliance to financial policies and procedures. Requirements Qualifications (Essential) • A Minimum Tertiary Qualification or a National Diploma/Degree in the following Sciences: o Agricultural management/Crop production o Horticulture o Environmental Health or o Food Technology (Desirable) • Agricultural Export Technologist Programme (AETP) Experience (Desirable) • Practical and Theoretical experience of perishable products • Completed (AETP) Agricultural Export Technologist Programme Knowledge (Desirable) • Practical and theoretical knowledge of Perishable Products • Completion of Portfolio of Evidence of at least one product • Knowledge of the PPECB and the Perishable Export Industry • Knowledge of export legislation Technical Skills/ Functional Skills (Essential) • Computer Literacy (Desirable) • Tablet literacy • Product inspection skills (incl. use of technical equipment handling) • Competency in one product Competency Profile: Behavioural (Essential) • Working with People • Adhering to Principles and Values • Writing and Reporting • Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations • Following Instructions and Procedures • Adapting and Responding to Change • Achieving Personal Work Goals and Objectives (Desirable) • Persuading and Influencing • Relating and Networking • Presenting and Communicating Information • Learning and Researching • Coping with Pressures and Setbacks Physical and other (Essential) • Business travel – Local • Good health (ability to distinguishing colour and working at hights, move around hazardous area i.e. packhouses etc) • Ability to distinguish between basic colours
