Description
The Inspector/Tester performs assembly inspection of transformers/regulators at various locations in the assembly plants per established procedures. You will perform electrical testing on assembled single and three-phase transformers/regulators per established procedures and monitor conformance to quality standards. In this function, you will: Perform routine factory dielectric tests per established procedures, including OX (induced), QC impulse, and hipot (applied potential). Perform routine factory loss tests per established procedures, including load loss (winding loss) & no-load loss (core loss). Perform power factor, ratio, and resistance tests per established procedures. Perform operational tests on regulators as required. Perform continuity test on unit per established procedures. Follow routine tests inspect unit nameplate, stamp impedance value on nameplate, and secure nameplate to tested unit. Perform visual inspection on interior of unit upon completion of testing. Perform minor maintenance of test equipment. Perform special routine tests when required. Perform all responsibilities of the Inspector, including, but not limited to: Perform visual inspection of units throughout the assembly process per established procedures. Perform the following tests as required per established procedures: ratio, resistance, leak, continuity, control box, insulation resistance, regulator sub-assembly, regulator modification, regulator run-in. Apply decals and stencils to exterior of unit and perform paint mileage check as required. Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in identifying and resolving shop floor problems. High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Education in AC/DC fundamentals or completion of electricity coursework from an accredited institution or a minimum 1 year of experience in electricity Ability to work overtime when required. Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
