Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Inspector to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of various construction projects throughout the region.
- Conduct thorough inspections of civil engineering projects, including buildings, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure
- Verify compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommendations
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address any issues or non-conformities
- Perform regular site visits to monitor construction progress and quality
- Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Ensure proper implementation of safety protocols on construction sites
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and project documentation
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in civil engineering
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements
- Travel within Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas as required for inspection projects
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred
- Proven experience in civil engineering inspection or related field
- In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and construction methods
- Familiarity with local and international building codes and safety regulations, particularly those applicable in Abu Dhabi and the UAE
- Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Physical fitness to perform field inspections in various environmental conditions
- Relevant industry certifications, such as FHWA-NHI-130055 or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, are highly desirable
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and inspection software
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas for inspection projects
- Knowledge of quality control processes and standards
- Familiarity with construction project management principles
- Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural environments
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity and ethics
