Description
This position participates in the execution the defined Strategic Quality Plan in conjunction with Quality functional leadership. Provides quality assurance support to suppliers and internal manufacturing cells and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. Helps executes the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements. This primary function of this position is one of execution. Inspects parts and collects data to support investigation and improvement activities Completes the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), or similar inspection processes (i.e. Initial Sample Inspection Report, First Part Sample, etc.) to assure customer requirements are met in existing, new, or modified products and processes. Participates in aspects of product development and launch activities throughout the organization as requested. Efforts should primarily be targeted at evaluation of test programs, material testing/inspection, and control of quality cost Participates in the auditing of internal Quality Systems and assists in corrective action system follow-up Provides support in the evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits Audits inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions Investigates and eliminates causes of quality problems and follows up on corrective actions Understands problem solving methods-i.e. 8D and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems Basic knowledge of techniques for assuring product quality Knowledge of tools such as Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, Process Flow, Preventive Maintenance, Machine Runoff, etc. Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements. Understanding of mechanical inspection concepts and tool sets with ability to inspect simple assemblies and components without support Must be prequalified to work on defense projects, per the state department ITAR regulations. State department regulations are defined as: US Citizen, Green card holder or Political Asylum
