Description
The Inspector I position plays a crucial role in maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction through thorough visual inspection of products. This position is responsible for examining, evaluating, and ensuring products meet established quality standards and customer specifications. The Inspector I also conducts proper packaging operations, while adhering to safety protocols and workplace organization standards. The role serves as the primary quality checkpoint in the production process, requiring keen attention to detail, strong visual acuity, and consistent application of quality standards. This position requires an individual who demonstrates reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality while maintaining productivity standards in a manufacturing environment. Hours: 7PM-7AM on a 36/48-hour rotation An additional $2.50/hr. premium added to salary for hours worked between 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform thorough visual inspections of products according to customer specifications Identify defects based on established quality standards Monitor product consistency and conformity to requirements Escalate Quality defects to Quality Lead as appropriate Pack products according to specified procedures Apply appropriate labels and packaging materials Ensure proper product orientation and arrangement Participate in safety improvement programs/projects including BBSOs and 5S events Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area responsibilities including work area cleaning. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Prior manufacturing experience a plus Required Skills: Ability to understand technical instructions Strong attention to detail Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to quickly identify and sort finished product Basic computer use is required Problem Solving Skills Additional Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age Must pass pre-employment assessment Drug screening required Background check required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Quality inspection techniques Ability to understand and follow Safety, Food Safety and GMP requirements Attention to detail Accuracy in inspection Time management Workspace organization Hand-Eye coordination Ability to meet physical requirements PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to: Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds Visual acuity for detailed inspection work Strict compliance with personal hygiene standards. Ability to climb ladders safely Extended periods of standing and walking Extended periods of twisting at waist and reaching Extended periods of wrist rotation Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses) WORK CONDITIONS: The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to: Noise levels above 80 dB Manufacturing equipment Solvents, fumes and inks Variable Temperatures Must be able to work flexible shifts May require nights, weekends, and holidays.
