We are actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Inspector to join and grow in the PPG organization. The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace and defense components. This role supports CNC, EDM, and related machining operations to ensure all parts meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable quality standards prior to shipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where requirements may evolve. Highlights and Benefits Quarterly profit-sharing bonus; eligible upon hire Paid time off 401(k) with company match Paid holidays Tuition / professional development reimbursement Health, dental, and vision insurance Optional HSA with company contribution Short-term disability, long term disability, and life insurance at no cost Limitless opportunity for advancement Requirements Inspect raw materials, castings, forgings, and customer-supplied product upon receipt Verify material certifications, traceability, and purchase order requirements Identify and document nonconforming material; initiate NCRs as required Communicate issues promptly to Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing Perform in-process inspections at defined operations to verify dimensional and visual requirements Work closely with machinists and programmers to resolve issues early Verify first article setups and critical characteristics Document inspection results per shop procedures and customer requirements Perform final inspection of completed parts prior to shipping Verify drawing compliance, revision level, and special process requirements Review routers, inspection records, and certifications for completeness Approve parts for shipment and ensure proper identification and packaging Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications Use precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, CMM or optical systems if applicable) Maintain accurate inspection records in ERP or quality systems Support AS9100 / customer audit activities as needed Follow all safety, quality, and configuration control requirements Knowledge, skills, and abilities 5+ years of inspection experience in a precision machining or aerospace environment Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Experience with incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities Proficient with standard mechanical inspection tools Familiarity with aerospace documentation and traceability requirements Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with production teams Experience in a prototype or R&D machine shop environment is a plus Working knowledge of airfoil features is a plus but not required Experience inspecting CNC-machined and EDM components Basic CMM operation or optical inspection experience Knowledge of AS9100, Nadcap flow-down, or prime customer requirements
