OVERVIEW

Masstemps are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading, well established steel fabrication company based in Dudley. Due to an extremely busy order book and rapid growth, they are looking to add an experienced Inspector to their team.
You must be experienced working in a heavy fabrication environment, manually inspecting large steel components once they have been machined.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the use of manual inspection equipment is essential.
  • Must be experienced in Heavy Fabrication, Machining & Material production processes.
  • I.T literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Previous use of Faro Arm is beneficial.
  • Ability to use overhead crane is beneficial.
    Hours: 8am-4:30pm with an early Friday finish.
    Pay rate: up to £17 per hour depending on experience.
    Lots of overtime available, paid at time & a half, and double time on Sundays.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Goods-In, In-Process and final inspection on materials and finished parts using appropriate manual inspection and/or CMM equipment.
  • Using micrometers, verniers etc.
  • Raise Non-Conformance and Corrective action reports where required.
  • Report directly to Production/Quality Manager any defects prior to despatch and completion of C of C documentation.
  • Complete any minor re-works/assembly when required
  • Maintain Calibration controls and recall requirements for all inspection equipment.
