Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspection: Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using appropriate inspection tools and techniques.
  • Documentation: Record and maintain accurate inspection results, reports, and receiving records for traceability and compliance.
  • Quality Control: Identify and document nonconforming materials, initiate containment actions, and escalate quality concerns to the appropriate teams.
  • Receiving Documentation: Process and verify receiving paperwork, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in root cause analysis, identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Compliance: Ensure all inspections and processes align with customer specifications, industry standards, ISO 9001, ASME Code, and internal quality procedures.
  • Communication: Collaborate and communicate effectively with vendors, production staff, and internal departments to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and utilize properly calibrated inspection tools and ensure proper equipment handling and care.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and interpreting technical specifications and drawings
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and regulatory standards, including ISO 9001 and ASME
  • Experience in reviewing and processing receiving paperwork and inspection records
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team

ITAR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to and abide by all ITAR-specific job standards and training. Protect and properly safeguard ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensure dissemination or disclosure of and access to “protected data” occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content.
  • IIMMEDIATELY notify Supervisor/Manager, Human Resources, Legal (email: compliance@samuel.com) or the Samuel Ethics Alert Hotline of known or suspected unauthorized disclosure, release of or access to protected ITAR content.
