Description Position Summary The Inspector is responsible for ensuring the operational reliability, safety, and quality of overhead and underground stringing equipment such as pullers, tensioners, and winches. This role supports both production and field operations by ensuring equipment meets defined performance standards. The Inspector serves as a critical link between manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and service teams, facilitating seamless equipment delivery and deployment. Success in this position requires technical precision, strong documentation skills, and an unwavering commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Reporting Structure This position reports to the Service Manager or Service Supervisor, and collaborates closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality Assurance. This position may flex based on workload to assist the Test field and Detail in their job duties. Requirements Primary Responsibilities The Inspector will perform the following functions. Additional duties may be assigned as required: Conduct incoming inspections for all rental equipment, including rope inspection utilizing Scope equipment Validate equipment performance including operational integrity, load capacity, braking systems, and mechanical alignment. Inspect underground cable pathways, terminations, and verify compliance with safety and clearance standards. Perform visual inspections on equipment to ensure aesthetics and presentation of the machine meet company standards. Ensure customer readiness of the machine by completing and validating the final checklist and obtaining sign-off approval. Identify defects, deviations, or failures and initiate corrective actions, with follow-up to resolution. Compile detailed test results and commissioning reports, documenting findings with clear pass/fail outcomes. Recommend procedural or equipment improvements based on inspection data. Support engineering teams during field trials, demonstrations, and client-facing validation activities. Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean working environment aligned with housekeeping standards. Follow all departmental safety protocols and company compliance policies. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or production management.
