Job Description Job Description AECOM are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inspector - Structural to join one of our building projects. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a critical quality assurance professional, responsible for ensuring that all structural works meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and specification adherence. Working closely with the Resident Engineer and design teams, you will oversee construction activities, conduct rigorous inspections, and maintain comprehensive documentation to guarantee the structural integrity and regulatory compliance of large-scale building projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned structural professional to make a tangible impact on significant construction initiatives. Responsibilities: Read and understand contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, together with any associated updates. Ensure contractor(s) comply with contract standards and specifications through systematic observation, measurements, testing, and quality assurance tracking. Maintain comprehensive records of contractor manpower, equipment, personnel, activities, and daily resource allocation. Undertake site supervision and inspections as required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE). Document contractor activities, personnel, equipment, location, methods utilised, and materials delivery in assigned areas. Apply and implement all quality controls, quality procedures, and site instructions issued by the project leadership. Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and code requirements through systematic inspection duties. Monitor health and safety compliance of construction works and report on violations to relevant stakeholders. Prepare site measurements and surveying checks as required by the project leader. Coordinate with structural engineers, design teams, and contractors to ensure alignment with project specifications and structural requirements. Conduct non-destructive testing and material verification to validate structural integrity and compliance with approved standards. Maintain detailed inspection reports, defect logs, and corrective action tracking to document all structural findings and remedial measures. Liaise with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies to facilitate inspections, obtain approvals, and ensure adherence to local building codes and regulations. Verify structural safety compliance and identify potential risks or deviations, escalating critical issues to the Resident Engineer for immediate resolution. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering Minimum 7 years of experience in structural inspection for large-scale building projects, including high-rise residential and commercial developments Demonstrated expertise in structural engineering methodologies, drawing interpretation, and compliance with local building codes and authority requirements Proven site experience in structural works execution, quality control, and project handover phases At least 3 years of experience working in the UAE (preferred) Additional Information About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
