ABOUT US:

At Blackburn with Darwen BC we are dedicated to maintaining and developing our road network. Our team of experts ensure the safety and longevity of our road network and our highway structures across the Borough.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Inspector to join our team and help us achieve our mission, to make Blackburn with Darwen a great place to live.
Our team requires one more additional inspector to join us in our mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Level 2, 3, i.e. A-Level or BTEC in Civil/Structural engineering or similar, relevant qualification.
• Previous experience in bridge or structure inspections.
• A keen eye for spotting defects and issues
• Strong self-organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and report writing / record keeping abilities.
• A commitment to safety and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect highway structures,
• Identify issues and defects,
• Document findings and keep accurate records
• Ensure compliance with current codes of practice,
• Collaborate with the team on repair works
• Supervise minor maintenance works and site activities
  The role will also involve outdoor and loan working. You will be required to effectively manage your own time to deliver inspections.
