Job Summary: Perform visual and functional inspections of aerospace products procured for, used by, and manufactured by ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions as assigned by Quality Management.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

This position is accountable to the Quality Control Manager.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  3. Skilled in the use of basic precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, ball gauges and radius gauges.
  4. Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office programs.
  5. Read, write and understand the English Language.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe rating
  2. Five (5) or more years of experience as a technician and/or inspector in an aerospace-related environment, or previous demonstrated ability with ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions. Manufacturing inspection experience outside the aerospace industry may be considered.
  3. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with a wide variety of people.
  4. Thorough understanding of AS9102, FAA parts 21, and 45.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. May be exposed to continual loud noises.
  2. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolong periods of time, and climb steps, ladders, and/or service stands.
  3. Must carry minimum of 50 lbs.
  4. Visual acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected and must have full color vision
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Inspect material and product by using and interpreting work/engineering documents to ensure conformity of articles.
  2. Ensure all assigned inspections are properly completed in compliance with established policies and procedures while ensuring corresponding inspection records, reports, and forms are properly executed prior to releasing products for use.
  3. Ensure safety procedures are followed and potential damage and injury are minimized.
  4. Perform surveillance to ensure compliance with all applicable FARs, policies, and procedures during the course of day-to-day assignments.
  5. Perform inspections only on products for which they have been properly trained and qualified.
  6. Monitor processes, monitor/gather data to analyze for trends, 1st part quality, etc.
  7. Participate in design build teams by providing input to the engineering design and determining critical design features the require inspection.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

Perform additional duties as may be assigned by the Quality Control Manager.
