About the role Techno is seeking an Inspector to support complex pedestrian ramp and ADA-compliance projects across New York City. In this role, you will be the eyes and ears of the project team—monitoring contractor activities, documenting field conditions, and ensuring that all work meets safety, quality, and accessibility standards. You’ll work closely with the Resident Engineer, Office Engineer, and project managers to help deliver safe, compliant, and well-constructed pedestrian infrastructure throughout the city. What you'll do Perform daily field inspections of pedestrian ramp, sidewalk, and roadway construction activities Verify that all work meets ADA requirements, design specifications, and contract documents Document site conditions through detailed daily reports, photographs, and quantity tracking Monitor contractor performance, safety practices, work methods, and adherence to schedules Notify the Resident Engineer of any non-compliant work, safety issues, or design conflicts Assist in reviewing field measurements and verifying installed quantities for payment Attend progress meetings and provide field updates on ongoing work and issues Coordinate with contractors, utility companies, and other site personnel as needed Support project close-out by confirming completion of punch-list items and final work compliance Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience inspecting civil, roadway, or infrastructure construction Strong understanding of pedestrian ramp standards and ADA compliance requirements Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and site plans Experience documenting field activities and preparing detailed daily reports Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with contractors and project teams Familiarity with site safety protocols and construction best practices Prior experience with NYC public-works projects is highly beneficial Experience with NYCDDC projects, procedures, or inspection standards is a strong plus Join us as we redefine excellence in engineering and construction management, shaping tomorrow's infrastructure landscape with innovation and precision. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
