Job Details Job Location: Atlanta - Atlanta, GA 30308 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Job Shift: Day Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services Inspire GA Lead Medical Coordinator (Atlanta) The Lead Medical Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day medical services and record keeping for youth in the care of Inspire GA. The Lead Medical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing health services as well as coordinating the provision of timely, appropriate health services for children in care. LMC supervise other Medical Coordinators and provide appropriate staff training on medical, dental, and public health topics relevant to pediatric, adolescent, and migrant health. LMC is responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures for confidential health record management, triage of health concerns, medical emergency response, environmental health and safety, and post-release health care planning/care coordination. LMC will go out in the surrounding community to vet potential providers, connect them to PCU and be the liaison between PCU, providers and Inspire GA. The Lead Medical Coordinator will troubleshoot service issues and will coordinate with DHUC to ensure residents receive required services. Position Details: Full Time Department - Inspire Georgia Reports to Inspire GA Assistant Program Director Located in Atlanta, GA In-person (Onsite) Monday through Friday; 8:30AM – 5:00PM Annual Compensation: $75,000 Responsibilities The Resident Health Manager will perform duties including but not limited to: Provide guidance to the Medical Coordinator regarding all medical, mental health, and dental aspects of the youth’s care. Coordinate with the Medical Coordinator and/or program staff to ensure completion of the Initial Medical Examination, and its components within the mandatory timeframes. Coordinate with the Medical Coordinator and/or program staff to ensure completion of all ongoing medical, dental and mental health care services, and its components within the mandatory timeframes. Work with Medical Coordinator to ensure all staff are versed in universal precautions, and treatment and reporting of communicable disease. Ensure all aspects of the Inspire Georgia Medical Plan and communicable disease protocols are followed. Provide program staff with injury prevention strategies for the youth. Work with the Medical Coordinator to ensure the administration and implementation of physician orders, and, when appropriate, educating the appropriate staff on administering medication and/or treatment. Ensure all medical documentation, including progress notes, are completed and uploaded to UC Portal and internal case management database within the mandatory timeframe. Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to evaluate child and sponsor participation and progress. Attend meetings as requested and assigned. Prepare and submit reports and statistical data when necessary. Assist with preparing Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) prior to appointments and follow up after approval to coordinate service with healthcare provider. Follow up with PCU and providers as needed when claims and payment issues arise. Recruit and maintain a list of providers from various disciplines and maintain list of all providers available for services. Provide oversight of all medical components, and audits of all medical records, medications management protocols, supplies, tests, including prescriptions to be administered to youth at the site, etc. Ensure HIPPA compliance with medical information regarding the youth. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care. Any of the following: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s. Higher health-related qualification (e.g. Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner Understand Medicare reimbursement codes and Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) creation and submission. Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required. Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel, and Outlook. A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours, when needed.
