JOB TITLE: INSTALLATION ENGINEER – WASHING AGGREGATES EQUIPMENT

Location: Dungannon – Travel Required
Department: Engineering / Field Services
Reports To: Installation Manager
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Practical knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, and hydraulic systems.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in remote, industrial environments.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or time-served).
  • CSCS card or equivalent (preferred).
  • Valid UK driving license (essential).
  • Experience in the aggregates, quarrying, or heavy plant sector (preferred).
  • Familiarity with wash plant systems such as log washers, dewatering screens, classifiers, and thickeners.
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

To install, commission, and support washing equipment used in the aggregates industry (e.g., sand and gravel wash plants). This includes mechanical assembly, electrical connection, equipment alignment, and site support to ensure smooth and efficient start-up of machinery on customer sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install and assemble washing equipment (screens, cyclones, pumps, conveyors, etc.) according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform mechanical and basic electrical installations.
  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and client representatives.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers during and after installation.
  • Complete job reports, risk assessments, and documentation accurately.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations on-site and company policies.
  • Assist in equipment servicing and aftersales support when required.
