We are looking for a proactive and organized individual to play a crucial role in our installation shop’s daily operations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to our operations manager, the Installation Support Technician is responsible for facilitating the smooth and efficient flow of truck sideguard installations. This hands-on role provides essential support to our two installers by managing truck logistics, handling critical documentation, overseeing pre-/ post-installation tasks, and contributing to overall shop readiness and efficiency.

  • Flexible with scheduling and willing to adapt to changing priorities to ensure project completion.
  • Basic computer proficiency for photo transfer, printing, and email communication.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as truck jockeying, moving parts, lifting, and general shop duties (e.g., standing, walking, bending).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Prior experience in a shop, warehouse, automotive, or manufacturing environment is considered a significant asset.
Responsibilities

Truck & Workflow Management

  • Receive trucks upon arrival, collect keys, and precisely park vehicles at the correct installation stations to initiate the workflow.
  • Perform truck jockeying as needed to optimize shop space and ensure a continuous work process for installers.
  • Maintain a general overview of the shop floor to ensure clear pathways and immediate access to necessary resources for installers.

Documentation & Communication

  • Execute pre-installation procedures, including taking comprehensive photos of trucks and transmitting them to Head Office.
  • Prepare installation kick-off packets by printing all necessary paperwork from Head Office, organizing it on a clipboard, and placing it inside the truck for the installer.
  • Manage post-installation documentation. Collect updated paperwork from installers, take post-installation photos, and send the complete post-installation package to Head Office.
  • Print and meticulously catalogue all completed documentation in binders, organized by truck type/model, for easy retrieval and reference by installers.
  • Communicate with the Operations Director proactively and clearly regarding any issues or potential delays affecting shop operations or installation timeliness.

Post-Installation & Quality Assurance Support

  • Confirm completion of QA process
  • Execute final cleaning of installed sideguards to ensure a polished finish.
  • Move completed trucks efficiently to the designated pick-up station.

Direct Installation Assistance

  • Assist with the assembly of various parts and components.
  • Provide scheduled hands-on installation assistance to the primary installers as needed.

Shop Maintenance & Inventory

  • Organize inventory inflows
  • Conduct daily & weekly inventory control for installation materials and parts used.
  • Actively participate in the daily 15-minute shop clean-up schedule, contributing to a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
