The Institutional Coordinator, Graduate Medical Education is responsible for managing and implementing a full range of activities and duties necessary for the operation and ongoing development of the Regional Sites in Southwest Georgia.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degre in business or healthcare discipline or Associate’s degree and 4 years additional experience (Required)
Master’s Degree in business or healthcare discipline (Preferred)
Work Experience
3 or more years related experience, including, demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and financial management tools.

Essential Functions

  • Arrange placement/rotations and clerkship schedules and resident scheduling (i.e., orientation, night call, etc) for students in ambulatory, inpatient, emergency room, and/or sub-specialty settings.
  • Support strategic and operational goals of the Phoebe-Academic Medical Education Division at the Phoebe Putney Health System level.
  • Develop and implement detailed process and system designs for all UGME, GME, Clinical Research and Community Engagement functions within the department and Regional Sites.
  • Serve as the primary contact for issues, problems, and concerns.
  • Perform basic budgetary functions, including completing budget change forms, completing tracking various expense requests forms, and monitoring the status of the budget; maintains records and files of budget expenditure information, supplies, student data, office activities, and employee leave and time data.
  • Leads and manages the process for the procuring and updating affiliation agreements and letters of agreement for clinical sites.
  • Recruitment of sites and faculty. Collaboration with all the educational programs, leadership, and faculty in developing and supporting.
  • Key communication with community, faculty, students, and administration.
  • Manage Program Managers at Regional sites
  • Oversee student experience at internal and external sites to assure adherence to protocols and standards of LCME.
  • Ensure available housing is secured for student rotation, and ability to resolve issues related to housing if necessary and well-being.
  • Plan and execute community events related to building partnerships.
  • Key leader in the clinical rotation development adhering to ACGME requirements.
