Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Institutional Events team at Imperial College London is looking for a highly organised Events Officer to project manage and deliver a portfolio of high quality and reputationally important events to connect Imperial with its many friends, audiences and stakeholders.
These events range from major strategic events hosted by the President, such as the Imperial Annual Dinner and the annual President’s Address, to VIP visits, bespoke events for invited audiences, launch events and special and inaugural lectures. As part of the Institutional Events team, you will be responsible for managing a programme of events from concept development to delivery and post-event evaluation. Our work focuses on supporting successful delivery of Imperial’s Strategy “Science for Humanity”.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

  • Project manage and deliver a portfolio of events from concept development to delivery and post-event evaluation. These events will include receptions, public lectures and launches
  • Deliver professional events on time, on budget and that meet objectives, monitoring KPIs throughout the planning process.
  • Write and deliver briefings for senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Chair planning meetings for events, ensure all parties are clear on roles, responsibilities and timeframes and follow up with clear notes and actions
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the part an event plays in the bigger picture of the Imperial’s Strategy “Science for Humanity”. and understand how to produce events that support institutional goals whilst managing stakeholder expectations
