Description of Work Salary Range: $41,655 - $72,897 Reporting to the Correctional Associate Warden for programs, this position will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Department of Adult Correction Administrative Remedy Procedures/Grievance Program for the assigned prison facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Providing offenders with an opportunity for administrative settlement of legitimate grievances through the policy of the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (DAC), Division of Institutions (DOI). - Providing quality grievance responses to offenders, which is essential to the Division of Institution’s mission and impacts the outcome of offender lawsuits. - Monitoring the grievance program to ensure the process meets Department of Adult Correctional policy requirements. - Maintaining knowledge of the Administrative Remedy Procedures/Grievance Program and consulting with staff and offenders to provide guidance in the resolution of concerns/issues. - Assisting grievance investigation claims by researching and gathering facts for responding to the offender. - Analyzing data and completing reports on grievances while demonstrating the ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimal guidance Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Working knowledge of program objectives and standards in the area of assignment (Administrative Remedy Program for Offenders). Experience with initiating and installing administrative programs and procedures and evaluating their effectiveness. Experienced exercising judgment and discretion in establishing, applying, and interpreting policies and procedures. Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with agency personnel, officials, and the general public. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
